My brother-in-law Uchenna graduated from BYU with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering this weekend. Much of the family showed up to congratulate and celebrate. Including the family here in Utah, my sisters from California came with their families, and my Mom. I'm sure everyone else was here in thought.
Thursday night 34 of us met at the Smalley's home for dinner. It was the epitome of "organized chaos." The evening was very fun and exciting.
After Dominic came home from work on Friday night, we made the trek down to Orem for the reception. It was the first time I met Uchenna's parents, and they seemed very pleased and proud of their son. But then, who wouldn't be?
We arrived home just in time for Dominic to get to bed (he has to wake up at 5 am on Saturdays.) The time was too short. I don't know when I'll see everyone again, especially Jen and Uchenna, who moved to Oklahoma. The distance between us makes me more grateful for telephones and email.

I was so happy you were there--what fun to see you all. Especially since, you're right, who knows how long until we see you again (although we can make sure it's not too long).
By the way, I love your entries--they make me laugh and I want to comment on all of them. Really I should just copy them into the comment space and put smiley faces everywhere that I laughed.
